Try it at home

Hello, and welcome to Myriora English! In this kind of question, a word has some letters missing. You use the sentence, and the letters that are left, to work it out.

Here's one. First, read the whole sentence, and say blank at the gap. We walked along the blank to the station. A road, a path or a river could all make sense. Next, check the letters. There are four spaces, starting with R and ending with D. Only road fits.

The letters alone aren't always enough. She was so blank that she fell asleep. Tired and tried both fit these letters. But only tired makes sense in the sentence. So you need the letters and the meaning together.

Let's try one together. The clown made all the children blank. Which word fits? Here's a tip: think of what clowns make children do. Say it out loud!
