Add and subtract cards into chains of equal-valued plays, charge your character's spell, and race to empty your hand.

A card game for two to four players, still in development: a story mode where you beat rivals to unlock their characters, matches against the computer, and local matches with friends on the same Wi-Fi. A tabletop edition is being playtested too.

Eight characters, eight skills

Each character charges from one kind of play — low cards, an element, subtractions or a long chain — and releases a spell that bends the game: extra cards for a rival, a skipped turn, a fresh hand. The Harmony Oracle is different: her power waits quietly until scoring.

Glyph Mage: charges by playing 2 cards valued 0, 1 or 2; Minor Mischief makes a chosen player draw 2 cards. Thunder Mage: charges on 10 Storm points; Thunderbreak makes a chosen opponent skip their next turn. Difference Walker: charges with 3 subtraction plays; Open Secret reveals up to 3 cards from an opponent's hand, then swaps one of your cards for one of them. Tide Walker: charges on 9 Water points; Turn the Tide shuffles your hand into the deck, then draws the same number of cards. Blaze Mage: charges on 20 Fire points; Burn Away removes 1 card from your own hand. Verdant Priest: charges on 12 Nature points; Shared Blessing makes every other player draw 1 card. Chain Duelist: charges with a chain of 7 or more cards; Encore Link takes another turn straight after this one. Harmony Oracle: a passive skill at scoring. If your hand is a single element with no Aether cards, or totals 10 or less, Pure Harmony means you lose no points for it.

Follow along

Calculamancer was called Aether Chain while we built it. The rules, characters and art are still being playtested, and news will appear here first. In the meantime, the Factor Gems demo is ready to play.
