D! Four times two is eight, plus two is ten, and ten is D.
The common mistake
Here's a common mistake. Lots of people work out the number, and then stop. Ten is the right number, but the question wants a letter. So the answer is D, not ten.
Try it at home
Letter sums: write A to E with numbers (A = 2, B = 3 ...), then take turns setting sums like B x C - A and answering with a letter, remembering times before plus.

Hello, and welcome to Myriora English! In these questions, each letter stands for a number. A is two, B is three, C is four, D is ten, and E is fourteen. What is B times C, take away A? Give your answer as a letter.
Here's how to do it. First, swap each letter for its number. Three times four, take away two. Then work it out: twelve take away two is ten. Last, turn the number back into a letter. Ten is D.
Watch out for the order. In A plus B times C, do the times first. Three times four is twelve, and twelve plus two is fourteen. Fourteen is E.
Let's try one together. What is E take away D? Say the letter out loud!
C! Fourteen take away ten is four, and four is C. Well done if you said C!
Here's a common mistake. Lots of people work out the number, and then stop. Ten is the right number, but the question wants a letter. So the answer is D, not ten.
Your turn! What is C times A, plus A? Give your answer as a letter. Pick the right card. You've got ten seconds, or pause the video. Go!
Time's up! D! Four times two is eight, plus two is ten, and ten is D.
Quick review. Swap each letter for its number. Do times and divide before plus and minus. Turn your answer back into a letter. See you next time!
