Ten new questions every time. Answer them all, then check: you get your score, and the working for anything you missed.
In this lesson
- Generous, modest, considerate and determined are qualities most people admire.
- Cautious is careful, and reckless is the opposite.
- Stubborn won't change their mind, and arrogant thinks they're better than others.
- And modest means not boasting, not shy.
Your turn
Lily fell off her bike ten times, but she kept practising until she could ride it. What is Lily like?
Show the answer
Determined! She didn't give up, even when it was hard.
The common mistake
Here's a common mistake. Thinking that modest means shy. Modest means you don't boast about yourself. Shy means you feel nervous with other people. A modest person can be very chatty!
Try it at home
Character cards: choose a favourite book character and pick two words to describe them (generous, stubborn, cautious...). Find a moment in the story that proves it.
