Daily Words
Eight new words a day, practised the way 11+ papers ask about them, and brought back just before they are forgotten.
- Once a day, press “Start today's words”. It takes about 10 minutes.
- First the reviews, then the new words. Read each new word card together and make up a sentence with it out loud.
- Then answer the questions. Every answer is marked at once; a missed word comes back before the end.
How Daily Words works
Each word comes back for review after 1, 3, 7, 16 and 35 days. A right answer moves it to the next, longer gap; a wrong one starts it again from tomorrow. After five right reviews it counts as known. When many reviews are waiting, fewer new words are given so nothing piles up.
The questions are the 11+ verbal reasoning kinds: the meaning, fill the gap, closest in meaning, most nearly opposite, odd one out, a word with two meanings, and missing letters. The words come in four levels, from Year 3–4 up to harder 11+ words; the English check can suggest where to start. Several children can learn on one device, each with their own words. Progress stays in this browser only.
Missing a day is fine: the reviews simply wait. Little and often beats a long session once a week.
