Hello, and welcome to Myriora English! Walk and run are fine, but these words show exactly how someone moves.
First, some slow ones. To stroll is to walk slowly and calmly, just for pleasure. To creep is to move slowly and quietly, so nobody notices. To stagger is to walk unsteadily, as if you might fall. And to plod is to walk slowly with heavy steps.
Now some fast ones. To dash is to run very quickly for a short way. To scurry is to hurry with short, quick steps, like a mouse. To sprint is to run as fast as you can. And to bound is to move with big, leaping steps.
Let's try one together. The cat moved slowly and silently towards the bird. Which word fits best? Say it out loud!
Crept! The cat crept towards the bird: slowly and quietly, so it wouldn't notice. Well done if you said crept!
