Hello, and welcome to Myriora English! Sometimes you can't see the right answer straight away. But you can often see what's wrong. Ruling answers out is a real skill.

Here's how. Read the question first. Cross out any answer that's clearly wrong. Then check what's left against the passage.

Watch for two traps. An answer that's true, but doesn't answer the question. And an answer that isn't in the passage at all.

Try it. Why did the fox wait? It was tired isn't in the passage. The hens came out is true, but it doesn't say why. So the answer is: to catch a hen.

Let's try one together. Why did Ivy pack a coat? Which answer is true, but doesn't answer the question? Here's a tip: check each one against the question. Say it out loud!

The trap is: she packed a hat. It's true, but it doesn't say why she packed a coat. The answer is: snow was coming.

Here's a common mistake. Choosing the first answer that looks right. A trap is made to look right. Read all the answers before you choose.
